Polarity is a 2D platform/puzzle game based on magnetism. The goal of the game is to navigate environments and solve puzzles by using your suit's magnetic properties in interesting ways. You can attract to and repel from objects, instantly switch magnetic polarity, or even boost the strength of your magnetic field for added abilities.
You can download the game for free from the official Polarity website:

Polarity was selected as a Student Showcase Winner and Gleemie Award Finalist in the 2008 IGF, a winner in the 2008 PAX 10 competition, and an Official Game Selection in the 2008 Indiecade Festival.
In addition, the game has been featured in the Breathroughs Exhibit at the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey, as well as the A.L.I.C.E. Museum Exhibit at the Nabi Art Center in Korea.
My role on Polarity was to lead the project's game design. This included the following:
- Developed original concept and core gameplay mechanics
- Planned and implemented all level design
- Balanced gameplay variables and tuned difficulty curve
- Executed design iteration from playtesting feedback

"...the game plays with magnetism in surprising ways... leading to all sorts of platforming and object-manipulation puzzles that I haven't quite seen before."
- Games for Windows Magazine

"What Portal did for portals, what Braid will do for time manipulation, Polarity does for magnetism. A free, downloadable, totally awesome puzzle-platformer, Polarity is all about using different types of magnetism to make it through the game."
- Destructoid.com

"If you think that a platform game can no longer surprise you these days, wait until you play Polarity."
- Softonic.com

"Polarity is super-amazing-awesome! The kids are loving it and it's holding up really well."
- Liberty Science Center

"I REALLY enjoyed Polarity. As a long time platformer fan, it was refreshing to see some clever 'run and jump' mechanics and solid level design. [Polarity is] a good combination of thinking and reflexes. Good work."
